21 foreign citizens without the right to travel in the Schengen area detected by border police

Romanian border police officers from the Nădlac Border Police Sector carried out random and unsystematic checks on the A1 motorway together with police officers from the A1 Deva-Nădlac Motorway Police Office. On this occasion, two cars and a road vehicle were stopped for checks, all registered in Romania and driven by three Romanian citizens.

Following the control of the means of transport, 21 foreign citizens were detected in the cars and semi-trailer of the road ensemble .

The individuals were taken over and transported to the sector headquarters for checks where, following these, the border police officers established that they are citizens of Iran, Bangladesh, Syria, Ethiopia, Turkey and Iraq. Given the aspects found, the border police officers have launched investigations into the commission of migrant smuggling crimes for Romanian citizens and attempted fraudulent crossing of the state border for foreign citizens, following which the necessary legal measures will be ordered upon their completion.
