23 foreign citizens without the right to travel in the Schengen area, detected by border police from Nădlac
Border police officers from the Nădlac Border Police Sector, along with police officers from the A1 Highway Police Office, conducted random and unsystematic checks on the roads near the border. On this occasion, a vehicle registered in Romania, driven by a Romanian citizen, was stopped for inspection.
Following the inspection of the vehicle, 23 people , foreign citizens, without travel documents, were found in the cargo compartment.
The individuals were taken and transported to the sector headquarters for checks, where, following these, our colleagues determined that they were citizens of Iraq, India, and Pakistan.
Considering the issues found, the border police have launched investigations into the commission of the crimes of migrant smuggling for the driver and attempted fraudulent crossing of the state border for foreign citizens, with the necessary legal measures to be taken upon their completion.
