50 kg of heroin found hidden in the cab of a truck at the Calafat Border Crossing Point

The border guards from the Calafat – Dolj Border Crossing Point discovered, hidden in the cabin of a truck driven by a Bulgarian citizen, the amount of 50 kg of substance likely to be heroin. The investigations in question are continued by the prosecutors of DIICOT-Central Structure together with BCCO Craiova, under the aspect of committing the crimes of “high-risk drug trafficking” and “international high-risk drug trafficking “, the Bulgarian citizen will be presented to the court with a proposal pre-trial detention.

During the specific control, acting on the basis of the risk analysis, the border guards discovered in the cab of the truck, in a travel bag hidden among the luggage and food bags, several packages containing a brown powdery substance with a pungent odor. , weighing about 50 kg, likely to be heroin.

Compared to what was found, the Bulgarian citizen stated that the travel bag did not belong to him, as it was handed to him by a friend, in order to transport it to Switzerland.

The entire amount of substance was collected by BCCO Craiova workers and sent for expertise to the Drug Analysis and Profile Laboratory within IGPR.

In this case, the investigations are continued by the prosecutors of DIICOT – Central Structure together with BCCO Craiova, in terms of committing the crimes of high-risk drug trafficking and international high-risk drug trafficking , at the end of which the necessary legal measures will be taken.

At the same time, the tractor head was made unavailable at the STPF Dolj headquarters, and the Bulgarian citizen was detained for 24 hours, and he will be presented to the court with a proposal for pre-trial detention.

If they were sold on the black market, the drugs would be worth over 1,500,000 euros.
