Border representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan meet to discuss direction

A meeting of the border representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Batken direction and the border representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the East direction took place in Chechma, Kadamzhay district of the Batken region.

The negotiations were also attended by the heads of local governments of the border territories of the Parties and the heads of the internal affairs departments of the Kadamzhay district of the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan and the Sokh region of the Ferghana region of Uzbekistan.

The meeting discussed the actions of the Uzbek side, which conducted a recent survey near the Bulak source (Chechme village) on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek section of the state border.

The Kyrgyz side declared the inadmissibility of topographic surveys, video filming and other works in this territory without coordination with the relevant authorities of Kyrgyzstan.

The Uzbek side agreed with the arguments of the border representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic on the Batken direction.

Following the meeting, a decision was made to coordinate and inform the Parties in advance about the activities carried out on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek section of the state border – all work at the border should be carried out only by agreement of the parties.
