CBP San Juan Field Operations confiscate 260 kilos of cocaine hidden inside a trailer on board the ferry

United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Field Operations seized on Friday 573 pounds (260 kilos) of cocaine inside a trailer on board the ferry between Santo Domingo and San Juan. “Transnational criminal organizations continue to use the international supply chain to hide narcotics within legitimate cargo,” said Roberto Vaquero, Acting Director of Field Operations in Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands. “The experience of our officers, along with the use of all available tools, resulted in the detection of these narcotics. Our communities can feel safer knowing that CBP men and women are securing their borders. ”

On June 26, the CBP Contraband Control Team inspected several containers arriving from the Dominican Republic at M / V Kydon, noting several anomalies inside a lowboy trailer.

Upon further intrusive examination, officers found 231 contraband packages, which tested positive for cocaine properties in the field.

On June 10, CBP seized 223 kilos of cocaine inside a container that also arrived from the Dominican Republic.
