Citizens of BiH attempted to smuggle a citizen of Austria

On 26 August 2020, officers of Border Police Unit Velika Kladuša, prevented smuggling of a citizen of Austria, at entry to Bosnia and Herzegovina at International Border Crossing Point Velika Kladuša. She was detected in a trunk of BMW with Austrian registration plates, upon detailed inspection of the vehicle at the second line border checks. The above mentioned citizen of Austria did not fulfil conditions for entering BiH, since she did not possess certificate on negative test for COVID-19, and citizens of BiH A.S. (born in 1989) and A.K. (born in 1996), attempted to smuggle her. On the grounds for suspicion that criminal offence ‘People smuggling’ was committed, following the order of prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, A.S. and A.K. were apprehended and report o committed criminal offence will be submitted to this institution. Vehicle and other evidence were temporarily seized and the entry of the Austrian citizen was refused.

Citizen of Serbia apprehended based on Interpol warrant

On 27 August 2020, officers of Border Police Unit Višegrad, apprehended S.O. (born in 1978), citizen of Republic of Serbia. It was found by border checks that she was wanted by Interpol Podgorica for criminal offence ‘Avoiding payment of alimony’. She was controlled at entry to BiH at Border Crossing Point Vardište and she will be handed over to competent authority during the day.
