Customs officers detained 46 kg of marijuana at the Kulata BCP, Bulgaria

Customs officers from the Department Drug Enforcement Department  at Customs Sofia  detained 46 kg of marijuana hidden in the floor of a cargo semi-trailer.

Around 5:30 a.m. on 06/08/2023, a freight train driven by a Bulgarian citizen arrived at the Kulata BCP on its way from Spain through Greece to Bulgaria. The truck was diverted for a thorough customs inspection, where 84 vacuumed packages with a total weight of 46,170 kg were found in a factory cavity of the semi-trailer – a longitudinal chute in its middle part. In a field drug test, the contents of the packages reacted to hemp (marijuana).
