During the last weekend (from July 7 to 9), 279 foreigners who tried to illegally cross from Belarus to Poland were revealed. Two traffickers were detained
The events were recorded on the sections of official responsibility of four Posts of the Polish Border Guard Unit, located on the border with Belarus. The highest number of attempts to cross the border illegally – 206 – took place on Friday. There were 43 such incidents on Saturday and 30 on Sunday. Among the foreigners revealed were citizens of: Afghanistan, Eritrea, Syria, India, Pakistan, Iran, Cameroon, Congo, Sudan, Ethiopia, Morocco and Guinea. The migrants tried to illegally enter the territory of Poland, overcoming e.g. border river Svislach.
Two couriers were also detained, trying to transport people who had previously crossed the border illegally into the interior of the country. Ukrainian citizens who transported 9 foreigners were detained in the area of official responsibility of Border Guard Posts in Dubicze Cerkiewne and Narewka.
Since the beginning of this year, on the section protected by the Podlaski Border Guard Unit, over 15,000 have been revealed. people who tried to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border.
