New Border Guard patrol boats on the Bug river
Three aluminum flat-bottomed boats with a total value of 300 thousand. PLN went to the Nadbużański Department of the Border Guard. Thanks to them, Border Guard officers will be able to patrol the border river Bug more effectively.
Ultra Marine Explorer E420 boats have already been delivered to the Border Guard facilities in Terespol, Włodawa and Hrubieszów. Two will help protect the Polish-Belarusian border, and one will help protect the Polish-Ukrainian border.
The dimensions of the newly purchased boats are: length – 410 cm, width – 174 cm, draft up to 30 cm. They are equipped with Mercury outboard motors (40 and 50 HP). Each boat also has a light beam with a loudspeaker and a device for monitoring the bottom of the body of water with a range of 40 m.
The boats were purchased with boat trailers for their transport.
In addition to patrolling the border and counteracting illegal migration through the border river Bug, they will also be used to counteract environmental threats and eliminate their effects in the Lubelskie Voivodeship.
The purchase of the boat was co-financed by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
Currently, the Bug River Border Guard Department has a total of 17 inland boats. Officers of the Bug River Border Guard Unit protect the border on the Bug River with a total length of almost 400 km, more than 171 km is the border with Belarus, and 228 km with Ukraine. The border on the Bug is not only the border of Poland, but also the external border of the EU.
