New method of avoiding quarantine: entering the country, in the opposite direction, by evading control

Romania border police noticed a car moving in the opposite direction, on the direction out of the country.

The car was stopped for checks, on which occasion it was found that a Romanian citizen was behind the wheel of the car, and together with him, as passengers, there were six Romanian citizens, who were coming from Germany.

As the driver did not meet the conditions for exemption from the quarantine measure on entering Romania, arriving from a country at high risk of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, he tried to avoid border control and epidemiological triage by Public Health Directorate workers. . It was found that, along with the driver, two of the passengers did not meet the conditions for exemption from the quarantine measure and four of them were vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2.

According to the findings, the passengers stated that they were not aware of the driver’s intention to enter the country fraudulently.

In this case, investigations are being carried out under the aspect of committing the crime of fraudulent entry across the state border, and the necessary legal measures will be ordered at the end of the investigation.
