Polish Border Guard Unit thwart 31 attempts to cross the Polish-Belarusian border

Officers of the Polish Border Guard Unit thwarted 31 attempts to cross the Polish-Belarusian border against the regulations. Two couriers transporting irregular migrants and 3 guides were detained.

A 46-year-old citizen of Belarus was detained in Kleszczele. He transported in his car 3 Afghans who illegally entered the territory of Poland. Another courier, also from Belarus, was detained in Bielsk Podlaski. This time, a 20-year-old tried to transport two Syrians to Germany.

Officers from the Border Guard Post in Białowieża also detained 3 citizens of Tajikistan, the so-called guides. They are responsible for transporting people from Belarus to Poland to the place where the couriers are waiting.

The migrants who tried to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border yesterday came from, among others, Somalia, Iran, Egypt, Sudan and Morocco.

The events took place in the sections of the Border Guard Posts’ official responsibility in Narewka, Białowieża, Dubicze Cerkiewne, Czeremsza and Mielnik.
