Prevented smuggling of 32 Afro-Asians in the area of Osmaci municipality in BiH

On 16 September 2020 after midnight, officers of Border Police Unit Zvornik and Central Investigation Office in cooperation with officers of Police Administration Kalesija of Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior, prevented smuggling of 12 Afro-Asians. The smuggling was detected in the area of Osmaci municipality when driver of a Golf, that police officers tried to stop by several light and sound warnings, refused to stop and run away.

By further investigation in the field, another group of 20 Afro-Asians were found. This group could be linked with the previous group of smuggled migrants.

All illegal migrants, 32 in total, are taken to official premises of BPU Zvornik. These included 22 males, 3 females and seven minors who came from Afghanistan (12), Iraq (10), Syria (6) and Iran (4). The vehicle that migrants were smuggled by is temporarily seized. Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office was informed about the case, as well as officers of Service for Foreigners Affairs of BiH. The further investigation of the case and finding perpetrator of this criminal act is ongoing.
