The Guardia Civil dismantles an organization that trafficked pink cocaine hidden in 3D prints
The Spanish Civil Guard, within the framework of Operation “Cupid” has dismantled a criminal organization that trafficked pink cocaine hidden in 3D prints.
The start of the operation took place last February, when Civil Guard agents detected parcel shipments from Madrid destined for Colombia and Australia declared as gifts. These shipments were made hidden in false funds, where they hid drugs such as MDMA and TUSI, a narcotic substance known as ‘pink cocaine.’
The agents have managed to seize 4,300 grams of MDMA, as well as more than 400 grams of various drugs, including cocaine, TUSI and ecstasy. Nine people have been arrested in the operation, including “the magician”, the person in charge of synthesizing the narcotic substances and those in charge of making the ornamental figures to hide the drug.
The agents, after an exhaustive study of all the existing shipments, managed to intercept during the month of February five shipments that carried gift elements related to Valentine’s Day, within which ecstasy and cocaine were located. Each shipment carried approximately 800 grams of the aforementioned substances.
These findings led the agents to focus all their efforts on identifying the senders, which involved laborious work when using documents taken from third parties who were not linked to the criminal organization. Finally, the agents identified several women who were in charge of sending the parcel, all of them young Colombian nationals, who used public transport to get around.
Next, and after an analysis of all the movements of these women and their environment, it was possible to determine a common link to all of them, specifically some offices located in the heart of Madrid, where the gift figures in format were manufactured. 3D. There the TUSI was made by mixing ketamine and MDMA together with pink dye. The leaders of the group who controlled the rest of those involved operated from this place.
After identifying the members of the plot, nine people were arrested, five women and four men, including the leaders of the organization. In addition, there are seven people investigated for their relationship with the plot, for having been linked to the drug laboratory through their rent and receipt of payments.
The detainees are accused of crimes against public health (drug trafficking) and belonging to a criminal organization. Two searches have been made, one in the office located in Madrid from which they operated and in a storage room in the town of Torrejón de Ardoz.
The police operation has been carried out by agents of the Fiscal and Border Unit of Madrid and supervised by the Investigating Court No. 28 of Plaza Castilla.
