123 kg of cannabis in a meat truck seized by Bulgarian customs officers

On 19.5.23 during a joint operation of the Customs Agency and the Ministry of Interior in the area of Danube Bridge 2, upon entry into Bulgaria from Romania, a thorough customs inspection was carried out on a truck with Bulgarian registration, driven by a Turkish citizen.

As a result of the inspection, in the vehicle, among the pallets of goods – meat, were found zebra bags and black bags containing vacuum-packed polyethylene packages with greenish-brown herbaceous mass. A field drug test tested positive for cannabis. The total weight of the object of the crime was 123 kilograms.
The driver of the vehicle, Turkish citizen Y. K. , was charged with the offence.
