13 citizens of Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan stopped at the border with Hungary

Border guards from Romanias Valea lui Mihai Border Police Sector, noticed a Mazda car, registered in Romania, whose driver turned onto a side road leading to the border with the neighboring state, trying to avoid being stopped by the PF crew on communication.

After the car was stopped, it was established that the driver and the passenger were Romanian citizens, and inside the van, were seven foreign citizens, all men.

As the seven did not justify their presence in the border area, they were transported to the Border Police Sector headquarters for investigations.

During the preliminary checks, the border guards established that the persons in question were citizens of Syria, aged between 20 and 37 years. They said they were heading to the Hungarian border, intending to cross illegally on foot into the neighboring country to reach Western Europe.
