31 citizens from India and Bangladesh, who intended to arrive illegally in the Schengen Area, found hidden in a TIR with metal parts

On 29.08.2022, at the Nădlac II Border Crossing Point, Arad county, a Romanian citizen presented himself for border formalities on his way out of the country. The man was driving a truck registered in Romania and was transporting, according to the documents accompanying the goods, metal parts on the Romania-France route.

Based on the risk profile, a thorough control of the means of transport was carried out, as a result of which the border police discovered, in the cargo compartment, hidden among the transported goods, thirty-one foreign citizens .

The persons in question were taken to the headquarters of the border police sector for investigation. During the checks, our colleagues established that the persons are citizens of India and Bangladesh, aged between 19 and 64, asylum seekers in our country and they intended to arrive illegally in a Western European state.
