39 foreign citizens hidden in two vans found in Nădlac, Romania

At Romania’s Nădlac Border Crossing Point, a Romanian citizen, driving a van registered in Romania, presented himself for border formalities on the way out of the country. According to the documents accompanying the goods, the driver was transporting auto parts for a trading company in France.

Following the thorough control of the means of transport, 19 citizens from various states (Nepal, Morocco, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan) who intended to illegally cross the state border with the aim of to reach Western European countries.

Another case was registered at the Nădlac Border Police Sector , where, based on the risk analysis, the Arad border police carried out a thorough check of a van parked in a parking lot on the outskirts of Nădlac, driven by a Romanian citizen. During the checks, twenty people were discovered in the cargo compartment, hidden among the transported goods . Upon investigation, our colleagues established that those in question are citizens of Bangladesh, India and Nepal, who entered our country legally on the basis of personal documents.

In both cases, the border police are investigating the crime of migrant trafficking for Romanian drivers and attempted fraudulent crossing of the state border for foreign citizens, and upon completion, the necessary legal measures will be ordered.
