Another group of Turkish citizens, stopped by border guards at the border with Bulgaria

At the end of last week, the border guards from the Coast Guard found eight citizens from Turkey near the state border , who entered Romania illegally from the Republic of Bulgaria. This is the second group of Turkish citizens, detected in the last days by the Constanta border police when they acted illegally at the Romanian-Bulgarian border.

On 07.03.2021, the border guards from the Border Police Sector Băneasa – Constanța County acted on the basis of information, moving near Făurei locality, Constanța county, where they observed with the help of surveillance technique, a group of people near the state border of Romania.

Following the action of the border police, the people were taken to the headquarters of the Băneasa Border Police Sector for investigations. Thus, our colleagues established that those in question are Turkish citizens, aged between 20 and 37, who fraudulently crossed the Romanian state border from Bulgaria, in order to reach Germany.

In this case, investigations are being carried out in terms of committing the crime of entering the country through the illegal crossing of the state border , and the measure of not allowing entry into the country for a period of 5 years is applied to Turkish citizens.

The eight people were taken over by the Bulgarian border authorities, through the Ostrov Border Crossing Point, based on the Readmission Agreement between Romania and the Republic of Bulgaria.
