Argentine Gendarmerie seize group using hoses to smuggle oil to Bolivia

Argentine Gendarmerie Force personnel raided a farm located on the Argentine side of the Quebrada Internacional, where they discovered an underground tube that led to the neighboring country.

Members of Squadron 61 “Salvador Mazza” , with the support of personnel from Mobile Detachment 5 and AFIP-DGA Delegation “Pocitos”, complied with a judicial measure issued by the Federal Court of Guarantees of Tartagal, by which the raid on a farm located in the area known as “El Portón de Beracca”, where the gendarmes had detected a tubular conduit that was underground and continued its journey, crossing the Quebrada Internacional to the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

In the presence of witnesses, the officials searched the property in question and found a 16 mm shotgun with two 16 gauge cartridges, a 14 mm shotgun, 16 16 gauge cartridges, three mobile UHF radial bases, eight security cameras, a plate. patent, a metal part (engine block) with a sequestration request and 100 kilos of soybeans in burlap bags. As a result of the procedure and investigative tasks, the uniformed officers found that tanker trucks loaded with edible oil were used, taking advantage of the conditions offered by the high ground on the Argentine side where they developed a system with hoses in parts buried up to one meter to evade controls.

The intervening Magistrate directed the seizure of the items found in the building, as well as the destruction of two bridges that crossed the Quebrada Internacional, which were non-authorized steps that were used for the smuggling of merchandise, leaving three people involved subject to the cause.
