Between the 25 to 27 August, 147 attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border were recorded

The events were recorded in the sections of the Border Guard Posts’ official responsibility: in Płaska, Narewka, Białowieża, Dubicze Cerkiewne, Czeremsza and Mielnik. Most attempts to cross the border illegally (101) took place on Saturday, 40 on Friday and only 6 on Sunday. In the section protected by Border Guard Posts in Dubicze Cerkiewne and Mielnik, Polish patrols were attacked with stones and tree branches. Foreigners also tried to illegally enter the territory of Poland by crossing the Wołkuszanka River in the area of ​​the Border Guard Post in Płaska. Among the revealed foreigners there were citizens of Afghanistan, Syria, Iran, Congo, Ghana and Iraq.

Two couriers trying to transport people who illegally crossed the Polish-Belarusian border to the west of Europe were also detained. A Georgian citizen who transported a citizen of Côte d’Ivoire and 3 Iranian citizens was detained on Friday in the area of ​​responsibility of the Border Guard Post in Białowieża. On Sunday, in turn, in the vicinity of Bielsk Podlaski, a Georgian citizen was also detained, who was transporting 2 Syrian citizens and 3 Afghan citizens.

From the beginning of this year On the section protected by the Podlasie Border Guard Unit, 471 traffickers and organizers of illegal border crossings were detained.
