Border police discovered a Turkish citizen hidden in a shipment of melons

In the parking lot near the toll station of the Calafat–Vidin bridge, Romanian and Bulgarian border police stopped a truck registered in Turkey for inspection. The vehicle was driven by a 58-year-old Turkish citizen, who, according to the accompanying documents, was transporting melons on the Turkey-Germany route.

Following the inspection, the border police discovered, in the cargo compartment, a 29-year-old man, without any identity documents on him, who declared that he was a Turkish citizen .

He told border police that he boarded a truck in Bulgaria, without the driver’s knowledge, with the intention of reaching Germany.
