Romanian Border Police with Bulgarian border police officers, stopped a car registered in Romania on DN 5 for inspection.

The car was driven by a 51-year-old Romanian citizen and had three passengers, aged between 30 and 62, traveling on the Bulgaria-Romania route.

Following the checks carried out, border police identified two foreign citizens of Nepalese origin who did not have valid documents allowing them the right to travel in the Schengen Area.

At the same time, following checks carried out through the E-DAC application, it was found that the two Nepalese citizens had alerts issued by the Bulgarian authorities, based on return decisions.

On the same day, around 12:15, the mixed patrol on duty in the DN 5 area stopped a male person, who was in the vicinity of the former border crossing, for identification.

Following the identification and verifications carried out, it was established that the person in question does not possess valid travel documents for the Schengen Area and declared that he is a Moroccan citizen.

Also, on the same day, at around 8:50 p.m., border police stopped for inspection, on DN 5, a truck registered in Romania, driven by a 37-year-old Turkish citizen, traveling on the Turkey-Romania route and transporting iron.

Following the checks carried out on the truck, the border guards found that the safety rope was loose on the front right side of the semi-trailer. Following the thorough inspection of the vehicle, they discovered, hidden inside the truck, two people, a Turkish citizen and an Iranian citizen, who did not have valid travel documents for the Schengen Area.

In this case, investigations are being carried out for the crime of fraudulently crossing the state border , against the five foreign citizens, a Turkish citizen, an Iranian citizen, a Moroccan citizen and two Nepalese citizens, and, upon completion of the investigations, legal measures will be proposed through the competent prosecutor’s office.
