Illegal shipments in the Polish sky

Four packages containing tobacco products were discovered by officers from the Podlaskie Border Guard. The cigarettes were smuggled in using weather balloons and a drone.

While conducting duties near the town of Długosielce, officers from the Border Guard Post in Kuźnica discovered packages wrapped in white foil, along with the remains of a weather balloon. The secured packages contained over a thousand cigarette packs with Belarusian excise stamps.

On January 9th, officers from Kuźnica discovered another package of cigarettes, this time smuggled using a drone. Inside were 7,000 packs of cigarettes with Belarusian excise stamps.

The total value of the seized cigarette contraband is over PLN 92,000.
