Six foreign citizens without the right to travel in the Schengen area, detected by border police

Border police officers from the Nădlac Border Police Sector carried out random and unsystematic checks on the routes near the border. On this occasion, a van registered in Romania, driven by a Romanian citizen, was stopped for inspection.

Following the inspection of the vehicle, six people, foreign citizens, without travel documents, were found in the cargo compartment.

The individuals were taken over and transported to the sector headquarters for checks where, following these, our colleagues determined that they were citizens of Turkey and Iraq.

Considering the issues found, the border police have launched investigations into the commission of migrant smuggling crimes for the Romanian citizen and attempted fraudulent crossing of the state border for foreign citizens, with the necessary legal measures to be taken upon their completion.
