The Spanish Civil Guard stops a shipment that was intended to be introduced through the Guadalquivir River
The Spanish Civil Guard has carried out an operation against drug trafficking by sea, in which 64 bales of hashish weighing approximately 2,500 kilograms have been seized. During the operation, 7 people of different nationalities have been arrested, and 3 handguns and an assault rifle have also been seized, as well as 5 vehicles prepared for loading the drugs.
The operation took place during the early hours of this morning when various units of the Civil Guard involved in the fight against drug trafficking in the area of the Guadalquivir River were working in the area in light of the certainty that a stash could be made in that area.
The intensification of surveillance by SIVE means made it possible to detect a vessel sailing north, which, due to the characteristics and experience of the agents, foreshadowed the introduction of illicit merchandise upriver.
The tracking of the boat allowed them to locate the loading point, where 4 all-terrain vehicles and a group of people were waiting ready to unload the cargo. The agents followed the unloading at all times, following the vehicles to the warehouse, which was located in an agricultural area of Bonanza, at which point the entire area was surrounded to prevent those present from escaping.
The importance of the operation meant that the people inside the daycare had no other option but to surrender without using any of the weapons they had, all of them loaded and ready to be used, which is why at around 3 a.m. the seven members of the organization were arrested and the 64 bales of hashish, 3 handguns, the assault rifle, 4 loaded all-terrain vehicles, plus a fifth that was inside the farm, as well as abundant evidence and documentation relating to the facts under investigation were seized.
