Two Romanian citizens are being investigated for migrant trafficking, after more than 70 migrants were discovered in the cars they were driving

Two Romanian citizens, driving vans registered in Romania, showed up for border formalities on the way out of the country.

According to the documents accompanying the goods, the drivers were transporting pallets on the Romania-Italy route.

Based on the risk analysis, the border police carried out a thorough control of the two means of transport. Thus, a total of 76 foreign citizens were discovered hidden in the cargo compartment .

The persons were taken to the headquarters of the sector where, following checks, our colleagues established that those in question are citizens of Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt, Nepal, Sri Lanka, India, Syria, Morocco and Palestine, who entered our country legally on the basis of personal documents and intended to arrive fraudulently in a state in Western Europe.
