1,283 kilos of cocaine intercepted hidden in a shipment of coconuts in Seville

The Spanish Civil Guard have seized 1,238 kilos of cocaine hidden in a shipment of coconuts in Seville. The drugs were concealed at the bottom of the truck trailer and hidden beneath the pallets. Two people have been arrested for alleged drug trafficking.

The operation began in December of last year, when investigators detected a company located in Dos Hermanas (Seville) that appeared to be used to bring drugs into Spain.

Next, a shipping container was identified as suspicious, so a close monitoring operation was established.

Thus, an operation was organized to intercept the container just as the driver was about to deliver the goods to a warehouse. The merchandise was intercepted upon arrival, and both cash and various electronic devices of significant evidentiary value were seized, thanks to two raids on properties in the province of Seville.

The inspection revealed that the cocaine was hidden in a shipment of coconuts, at the bottom of the truck trailer and concealed in the lower part of the pallets.

This operation has prevented the distribution of a large drug shipment and dealt a significant blow to drug trafficking networks, although the investigation remains open and further arrests are possible.
