Nearly 3.9 tonnes of cocaine seized by Customs at the port of Dunkirk

On 7 September, French officers from the Dunkirk Port External Surveillance Brigade seized nearly 3.9 tonnes of cocaine discovered in a container from Ghana to Belgium.

During the inspection, the container was marked by the dog specialized in the detection of narcotic products, then subjected to the mobile X-ray scanner. The search led to the discovery, hidden in the middle of recycled plastic bags, 8 bags containing 167 bales of cocaine.

The value of the goods on the illicit market is estimated at nearly 225 million euros. It was completely destroyed.
