
24 migrants detected by border police officers from the Romanian Calafat Border Police Sector
In a parking lot near the toll station of the Calafat–Vidin bridge, as part of a specific control action, police officers from the Giurgiu Border Police Territorial Inspectorate – Calafat Border Police Sector, in cooperation with their Bulgarian counterparts, selected for control a minibus driven by a Moldovan citizen, which was traveling on the Bulgaria–Romania route.
Following the checks carried out, seventeen people of Afro-Asian origin were discovered inside the cargo compartment, who did not have travel documents on them. Fourteen of them declared themselves citizens of Morocco, and three of them were from Egypt, Palestine, and Tunisia, respectively.
Expanding specific activities in the area of competence and acting together with police officers from the Calafat Municipality Police, our workers soon identified seven other male individuals, Moroccan citizens, who did not justify their presence on the territory of our country.
