Two traffickers organizing illegal border crossing were detained by officers from the Polish Border Guards

Officers from the Border Guard Post in Czeremcha and the Operations Security Department of the Podlaskie Border Guard, along with officers from the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime in Łódź, enforcing a decision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bielsk Podlaski, detained a 33-year-old Polish citizen. The man was apprehended in Białystok. He is suspected of aiding and abetting illegal migration.

Another arrest was made by officers from the Operations and Investigation Department and the Operations Security Department of the Podlaskie Border Guard Unit in Sochaczew. Acting on a decision from the National Prosecutor’s Office in Białystok, the 20-year-old Ukrainian citizen was charged with aiding and abetting illegal border crossing.

Organizing or aiding in the organization of illegal border crossings is punishable by up to eight years’ imprisonment. All foreigners detained for aiding and abetting, who were previously legally residing in Poland, were subject to parallel administrative proceedings to issue a decision requiring their return to their country of origin. They were also banned from entering Schengen countries for five to ten years.

In 2025, officers from the Podlaskie Border Guard Unit detained a total of 233 helpers and organizers of illegal border crossings.
