32 foreign citizens found hiding in a van

At the Romanian Cenad Border Crossing Point , a 20-year-old Romanian citizen presented himself for border formalities on his way out of the country. The young man was driving a van registered in Poland and, according to the documents, he was transporting sanitary installations bound for Italy.

Based on the risk profile, a thorough control of the means of transport was carried out as a result of which the border police officers discovered, in the cargo compartment, in a specially designed compartment, thirty-two foreign citizens .

The persons in question were taken to the headquarters of the border police sector for investigation. During the verifications, our colleagues established that the persons are citizens of Pakistan and India, aged between 20 and 45, legally entered the territory of Romania. They stated that they intended to arrive illegally in a western European state.
