33 foreign citizens detected by Romanian border police, at the end of last week

Thirty-three foreign nationals were found by Arad border guards trying to fraudulently cross the state border into Hungary on foot or hidden in car parks.

A Turkish citizen presented himself at the wheel of a lorry registered in Turkey. He was transporting car parts for a French company, according to the accompanying documents.

Following the thorough control of the means of transport, five foreign nationals were discovered hidden in the cargo compartment .

The persons were taken and transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations where, following the verifications, the border police established that the group consists of three minors, aged between 5 and 17 years and two adults aged 23 and 28 years, respectively. , all citizens of Afghanistan, asylum seekers.

The border police officers from the Vărşand Border Police Crossing Point also carried out a detailed check on a road complex driven by a Romanian citizen who was transporting car parts on the Romania-Germany route. Our workers checked the means of transport and discovered, inside the cargo compartment, hidden among the car parts, fourteen foreign nationals. During the preliminary checks, the border guards determined that they were citizens of Turkey, aged between 17 and 32.

On 20.02.2021, around 23:00, the border guards from the Nădlac Border Police Sector noticed, approximately 500 meters from the border line, three people walking. As they did not justify their presence in the area, they were taken to the headquarters of the point to carry out the checks. Following the investigations, it was established that there are two citizens from Libya, aged 17 and 19, respectively, and a citizen from Tunisia, aged 22.

Similar actions took place at the end of last week at the Nădlac II Border Police Crossing Point and the Curtici Border Police Sector , where the border guards found, during the execution of specific missions, near the border line, eleven foreign nationals traveling on foot with the intention of crossing the border illegally into Hungary. The research established that they are citizens of Afghanistan, India, Pakistan and Palestine, aged between 15 and 37 years.

In all cases, the border guards carry out investigations in order to establish the entire criminal activity, and the necessary legal measures will be ordered upon completion.
