56 foreign citizens hidden in a truck detected by Romanian border guards

At the Romanian Nădlac II Border Crossing Point, a Romanian citizen, at the wheel of a truck registered in Romania, showed up for border formalities, on the way out of the country. According to the documents accompanying the goods, he was transporting household appliances to a company in Italy.

Following a thorough inspection of the means of transport, forty-five foreign nationals were found hidden in the cargo compartment.

The persons were taken and transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations where, following the verifications, the border police established that they are citizens of India and Bangladesh, aged between 18 and 40, most of them asylum seekers in Romania.

Similar actions took place at the Nadlac Border Crossing Point, where border guards carried out a thorough check on a minibus driven by a Bulgarian citizen. Following the control carried out on the means of transport, they discovered, hidden in a specially arranged place, ten foreign citizensDuring the preliminary checks, the border guards determined that they are citizens of Syria, aged between 20 and 40 years.
