
Approximately 22 kilos of cannabis discovered at Otopeni Airport
Following a random check of the checked baggage of an Albanian citizen who had arrived on a flight from Athens, Greece, border police officers from the Bucharest – Otopeni Airport Border Crossing Surveillance and Control Center discovered approximately 22 kilograms of cannabis, packed in 49 vacuum bags.
The prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism were notified and ordered the man’s detention and investigation for committing the crimes of international trafficking of dangerous drugs and dangerous drug trafficking.
The evidence provided revealed that the defendant purchased the quantity of risky drugs, which he attempted to introduce into Romania by air from Athens – Greece.
