Cigarettes fell from the sky. Now they will pay for them …

On the night of January 18/19 this year, a patrol of Polish Armed Forces soldiers, carrying out tasks in the section of the official responsibility of the NOSG Post in Sławatycze (Polish-Belarusian border), while observing the state border, noticed a flying object, moving at a relatively low altitude. It moved from the east into the territory of Poland. Officers of the Bug River Border Guard Unit from the Sławatycze post, managed to quickly locate the place where the drone operator dropped the packages, as it turned out later, filled with illegal excise goods.

After reaching the indicated area, Border Guard officers noticed a passenger car. The uniforms managed to stop the vehicle and apprehend the driver and two passengers of the vehicle. The detainees are Polish citizens, residents of the Biała Podlaska poviat, aged 25, 28 and 53. Packages filled with illegal cigarettes were revealed in the inspected vehicle on the spot. In the course of further actions, officers of the Border Guard also searched the places of residence of men, where further illegal excise goods were discovered. In total, during the activities carried out, the officers revealed illegal cigarettes worth over PLN 24,000. zloty.
