Frontex supports Hellenic authorities with rescue in Evros

On 14 October, Frontex standing corps officers who were patrolling the area of Evros supported the Hellenic authorities in the rescue of a large group of migrants who crossed to Greece from Turkey.

The Frontex officers reported that the migrants were found without clothes and some of them with visible injuries.The officers, along with their Greek colleagues, provided immediate assistance to the migrants.

The agency also informed the Frontex Fundamental Rights Officer of a potential violation of fundamental rights.The quick reaction to the incident demonstrated the high professionalism of the Greek authorities and a smooth cooperation with Frontex.
