Intense actions at the border with Hungary: 104 foreign citizens found hidden

In the space of 48 hours, at the Nădlac II Border Crossing Point, three Turkish citizens and one Bulgarian, who were driving road vehicles registered in Turkey and Bulgaria, presented themselves for border formalities on the way out of the country. A van registered in Turkey, according to the documents accompanying the goods, the drivers were transporting metal rolls, auto parts, plastic and cardboard for commercial companies in Germany and the Czech Republic.

Following the thorough inspection of the vehicle, 104 foreign citizens were discovered, hidden in the compartments intended for the transport of goods, among the transported goods.

The persons were picked up and transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations where, following checks, the border police established that they are citizens of various Asian states (Syria, Nepal, Iraq, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Iran, India and Afghanistan), who intended to fraudulently cross the state border with the aim of reaching Western European countries.

Taking into account the aspects found, the border police have started investigations in the aspect of committing the crimes of migrant trafficking for drivers and attempted fraudulent crossing of the state border for the citizens detected hidden in the means of transport, following that, upon their completion, they will be ordered the legal measures that are imposed.
