More than 8,200 counterfeit items worth 1.3 million euros were seized in Granada

The Spanish Civil Guard has seized more than 8,200 counterfeit items worth over one million euros and has brought three people before the courts for crimes against industrial property and smuggling.

Operation Turkegra began when agents became aware of the possible existence of a group of people who were importing textile products and fashion accessories that infringed industrial property rights, manufactured in third countries, through courier services.

The investigation revealed that the packages were being received by different individuals who then loaded them into vehicles and transported them to locations other than the addresses listed as delivery points. This led officers to suspect the existence of measures designed to hinder the detection of the illicit activity.

It was also found that those responsible used various applications and social networks as a means of promoting and selling the items, distributing them throughout the national territory through courier and parcel services.

After several months of investigation, a customs inspection was carried out at a premises not open to the public located near the city of Granada. During this operation, agents seized a large quantity of counterfeit goods acquired through parcel services from third countries, circumventing legal import procedures, for subsequent sale.

Among the seized items were clothing, sports shoes, watches, sunglasses, headphones, perfumes, football kits and mobile phone accessories, which fraudulently reproduced internationally renowned brands.

The operation involved the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit (UDAIFF) of Granada, belonging to the Fiscal and Border Detachment of Santa Fe. Supporting the investigating unit were members of the Fiscal and Border Patrol of Calahonda, as well as legal representatives and experts from the affected brands, who collaborated in assessing and certifying the counterfeit nature of the seized products.
