Nine foreign citizens detected by Romanian border police without documents allowing them to travel in the Schengen area
Border police officers from the Nădlac Border Police Sector carried out random and unsystematic checks on routes near the border. On this occasion, a car registered in Romania, driven by a Romanian citizen, was stopped for inspection.
Following the inspection of the vehicle, five people were found , one in the front passenger seat, two sitting in the back seat and two others in the trunk.
The individuals were taken over and transported to the sector headquarters for checks where, following these, the border police established that they were citizens of Afghanistan and Iraq, aged between 18 and 47 .
Border police have launched investigations into the commission of migrant smuggling crimes for the Romanian driver and fraudulent crossing of the state border in a continuous manner for foreign citizens, with the necessary legal measures to be taken upon their completion.
