Polish Border Guards detained 287 foreigners trying to illegally cross their border

Last weekend (May 26-28, 2023), officers from the Polish Border Guards detained 287 foreigners trying to illegally cross from Belarus to Poland

On the May 28th there were 148 attempts to illegally cross the border from Belarus to Poland, including 53 foreigners who approached the barrier, but when they saw the officers on the Polish side, people withdrew deeper into Belarus. On Saturday, 32 illegal migrants were revealed. On Friday (May 26), 107 people tried to enter Poland illegally. On that day, on the section protected by the Border Guard Post in Płaska, 8 foreigners (4 citizens of the Congo, 2 citizens of India and 2 citizens of Mauritania) crossed the border river Wołkuszanka illegally. 

Events related to illegal migration were recorded in sections protected by Border Guard Posts in Bobrowniki, Płaska, Białowieża, Narewka, Dubicze Cerkiewne, Narewka, Mielnik and Czeremsze. The migrants revealed over the weekend came from many parts of the world. Among them were citizens from Nepal, Ethiopia, Morocco, India, Yemen, among others.

This year, illegal migrants from 42 different countries were detained on the Polish-Belarusian border.
