Three Iraqi citizens found hidden among rolls with labels in a truck
The border policemen at the Giurgiu-Russian Border Crossing Point detected, following the thorough control carried out on a truck driven by a Turkish citizen, three Iraqi citizens hidden among rolls with labels.
On 06.09.2024, at around 00.45, at the Giurgiu-Russian Border Crossing Point, a Turkish citizen, aged 56, driving a truck, which was transporting rolls, presented himself to enter the country with labels on the Turkey-Czech Republic route.
Based on the risk analysis, the means of transport was checked, jointly with the Bulgarian border police, and three male persons were discovered hidden inside.
No identity documents were discovered on those in question, the people verbally declaring that they are Iraqi citizens and got into the truck in a parking lot in Turkey, near the Turkish-Bulgarian border, without the knowledge of the driver.
Considering the aspects found, the driver, the truck and the persons discovered hidden were taken over by the representatives of the Bulgarian Border Police, in order to continue the investigations and order the necessary legal measures.
