Two Polish citizens involved in organizing illegal crossing of the Polish-Belarusian border detained
In Łódź, officers detained two Polish citizens involved in organizing border crossings in violation of regulations. As part of the investigation, supervised by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Augustów, it was established that together with other people, they organized the illegal crossing of the Polish-Belarusian border by migrants in September last year. Officers from the 2nd Police Station of the City Police Headquarters in Łódź also participated in the activities.
The 19-year-old men, like other citizens of Poland, Afghanistan and Ukraine previously detained in this case, were charged by the prosecutor with organizing illegal crossings of the state border in violation of the regulations. Both Polish citizens were temporarily arrested for 3 months. The Penal Code provides for a prison sentence of 6 months to 8 years for organizing illegal crossings of the border.
