50 foreign citizens found hidden in two means of transport

At the Romanian Nădlac II Border Crossing Point, Arad county, a Turkish citizen and a Czech, driving registered vans and minibuses, showed up for border formalities on the way out of the country in Turkey and the Czech Republic. One of the drivers was transporting car batteries for a trading company in Austria, and the other was traveling without a load to a state in Western Europe.

Based on the risk analysis, the border police carried out a thorough control of the means of transport. Thus, a total of 50 foreign citizens were discovered hidden in the cargo compartments .

The persons were picked up and transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations where, following the checks, the border police established that they are citizens of Pakistan, India, Syria and Bangladesh, some of them legally entered our country based on personal documents, others being applicants of asylum.

In both cases, the border police investigate the crime of migrant smuggling for the drivers and attempted fraudulent crossing of the state border for the citizens detected in hiding, and upon completion, the necessary legal measures will be ordered.
