85 home searches to destroy an organized criminal group, specialized in migrant trafficking

From 2022, several people, Romanian citizens and foreign citizens, formed themselves into four criminal groups, with the main purpose of sheltering migrants on the territory of Romania, and subsequently transporting groups of them to countries from Central or Western Europe, by illegally crossing the state border of Romania.

On approximately 40 incidents members of criminal groups were intercepted and stopped, vehicles in which over 800 migrants were identified attempting to illegally cross the state border of Romania towards European Union states.
