Cigarettes worth 1.5 million euros confiscated by the Romanian border police

Following the control of the semi-trailer, the border police officers discovered the amount of 555,000 cigarette packs, without fiscal markings.

The cigarettes, worth a total of 1,500,000 euros, and the vehicle were seized for confiscation, and in the case the border police are investigating the Bulgarian citizen for the crime of smuggling.

The man was detained for 24 hours, to be presented to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Drobeta – Turnu Severin Court for another preventive measure.
