Five people detected at the Romanian-Serbian border after trying to enter Romania illegally
Romanian border police officers from the Jimbolia Border Police Sector – ITPF Timişoara launched a specific action to combat illegal migration, following the observation, with surveillance equipment, of five people moving from the border with Serbia.
Following the action, near the border with Serbia, three men and two women, foreign citizens, were spotted walking on foot in the field, in the direction of DN59A. Since they could not justify their presence in the area, the individuals in question were taken to the sector headquarters for verification.
It was later determined that the five were citizens of Pakistan and Sri Lanka, aged between 24 and 44. They stated that they had attempted to illegally enter Romania from Serbia, with the aim of reaching Western Europe.
