Frontex Fundamental Rights Officer publishes report for 2022

The Frontex Fundamental Rights Officer released the annual report for 2022 providing an overview of the monitoring and advisory activities performed last year.

The report outlines the main observations and recommendations provided to the agency, the Executive Director, and the Management Board during the year. The recommendations issued are based on a variety of sources and tools, including monitoring in the field, complaints, and serious incident reporting. The report further provides an update on the implementation of the Fundamental Rights Strategy and its Action Plan, as well as updates on the complaints received via the Frontex Complaints Mechanism.

The Fundamental Rights Officer is mandated with monitoring Frontex implementation of its fundamental rights obligations in accordance with EU and international law. This includes reporting on possible violations, promoting the inclusion of fundamental rights in the activities of the agency, and providing advice and recommendations.
