Over 150 foreign citizens detected in the last 48 hours by the border police at the national borders

At the Romanian Nădlac II Border Crossing Point , a Turkish citizen, driving a road vehicle registered in Turkey, presented himself for border formalities on the way out of the country. It was transporting, according to the documents accompanying the goods, electrical transformers on the Turkey-Netherlands route.

Following the thorough control of the means of transport, forty foreign citizens were discovered hidden in the cargo compartment.

The persons were picked up and transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations where, following checks, the border police established that they are citizens of Bangladesh, Egypt and Iran, aged between 22 and 45, who entered our country legally in the basis of personal documents.

Also, at the Nădlac II Border Crossing Point , the border police carried out a thorough check on a truck driven by a Turkish citizen. As a result of the control, they discovered thirty-three foreign citizens in the cargo compartment . During the preliminary checks, our colleagues established that they are citizens of Bangladesh, India and Egypt, aged between 18 and 40 years.

In the two cases, the two Turkish truck drivers are being investigated under the aspect of committing the crime of migrant trafficking, the border police continuing the investigations in order to establish the entire criminal activity.

Another 61 citizens from various countries were added to them , detected in the last 24 hours, also at the Nădlac II Border Crossing Point , in an attempt to illegally cross the border into Hungary, hidden in five means of transport.

In fact, four Romanian citizens, respectively one Turkish, driving vans registered in Romania and Poland, respectively a road vehicle registered in Turkey, presented themselves for border formalities on the way out of the country. According to the cargo documents, the drivers were transporting audio headphones, textiles, wooden boxes, auto parts and aluminum profiles for trading companies in France, Italy and Poland.

Based on the risk analysis, the border police carried out a thorough control of the five means of transport. Thus, a total of sixty-one foreign citizens were discovered, hidden in the cargo compartments, respectively in specially designed compartments (double wall) .

The persons were picked up and transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations where, following checks, the border police established that they are citizens of various states (Bangladesh, India, Eritrea, Pakistan, Tunisia, Sri Lanka, Morocco, Syria and Iraq), which they intended to fraudulently reach Western Europe.

Two other people , citizens of Guinea, were also spotted at the Nădlac II Border Crossing Point in a bus, trying to leave the country illegally, using identity documents that belonged to other people.

On 06.01.2023, at the Nădlac II Border Crossing Point, two people who presented themselves with identification, on the way out of the country, traveling as passengers in a bus registered in Romania, to complete the border formalities with passports issued by the French authorities.

During the verification of the documents, the border police found that there are differences in appearance between the persons present at the control and the photos in the documents, which is why they were taken to the institution’s headquarters for research.

Following the checks, it was established that the persons in question are citizens of Guinea, aged 25 and 34 respectively, who entered our country legally on the basis of personal documents.

In the case, our workers have started the investigations regarding the perpetration of identity forgery and attempted fraudulent crossing of the state border, and upon completion of the investigations, the necessary legal measures will be ordered.

Border police officers from the Iasi Border Police Territorial Inspectorate – Romanian Border Police Sector are investigating six foreign citizens who illegally crossed the state border from the Republic of Moldova to Romania, across the Prut River.

On January 5 this year, at around 12:35, the Botoşani border police officers, carrying out an organized action in the area of ​​responsibility, detected, in the area of ​​Santa Mare, Botoşani County, and detained for investigation six foreign citizens whose presence in area was not justified.

Since the persons in question did not have identity documents on them, they were taken to the headquarters of the Romanian Border Police Sector, for further investigations.

Shortly, however, due to the state of health of one of them, the support of a medical team was requested, the citizen being taken to the Emergency Reception Unit at the “Mavromati” Botoşani County Emergency Hospital, being later discharged and taken to the SPF headquarters Romanian.

Following the checks carried out and as a result of the exchange of operative data between the Romanian border authorities and those of the Republic of Moldova, it was established that the persons in question are six men aged between 29 and 40 years old, four citizens originally from Bangladesh and two from Pakistan, who crossed the state border from the Republic of Moldova to Romania, over the Prut river, with the help of a boat.

In the case, joint investigations are being carried out with the border authorities of the Republic of Moldova under the aspect of committing the crime of fraudulent crossing of the state border, and based on the Readmission Agreement, the six citizens will be taken over by the authorities of the neighboring state.

The representatives of the two states will continue to collaborate in the future and will take all necessary measures to maintain a climate of order and security at the common border.

And the border policemen from the Territorial Inspectorate of the Timişoara Border Police, in cooperation with policemen from the Timiş County Police Inspectorate, the Timiş County Immigration Service, workers from the Timiş County Gendarmerie Inspectorate and the Timişoara Gendarmerie Mobile Groups detected , on 04.01.2023, as part of an action carried out in an integrated system on the line of preventing and combating illegal migration within the radius of the municipality of Timisoara, Asian citizens , who did not justify their presence in the area.

During the checks, it was established that these are citizens of Afghanistan, India, Bangladesh, holders of temporary identity documents for asylum seekers, but who did not justify their presence in the area.  

These actions carried out in an integrated system with the support and cooperation of the other structures of the MAI to prevent and combat illegal migration in Timiș county will continue during the next days.
