Romanian border police detected 72 foreign citizens, hidden in two vehicles

At the Romanian Nădlac II Border Crossing Point, a Turkish and a Romanian citizen, driving a vehicle registered in Turkey and a van registered in Romania.

According to the documents accompanying the goods, the drivers were transporting various goods, including materials for exterior fittings and metal profiles, for commercial companies in Germany and Switzerland.

Based on the risk analysis, the border police carried out a thorough inspection of the two means of vehicles. A total of 72 foreign citizens were discovered, hidden in the cargo compartments .

The persons were transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations, where, following checks, our colleagues established that they are citizens of Bangladesh, Nepal, India and Syria, some of them having entered our country legally, and others asylum seekers. The detected persons intended to arrive fraudulently in various states in Western Europe.
