The Spanish Civil Guard seizes almost three tons of cocaine and four assault rifles hidden in a rural house in Guadalajara
The Civil Guard has identified and arrested eight members of a drug trafficking organization whose main storage facility was a rural house in Guadalajara, where they kept almost three tons of cocaine. Among other items, four assault rifles were also seized.
The investigation began with surveillance of a warehouse and a rural house located in the province of Guadalajara, where drug trafficking was suspected. The Civil Guard located a vehicle with a hidden compartment containing 55 kilos of cocaine and a truck with 90 packages concealed in a false bottom inside a semi-trailer, with an approximate gross weight of 99 kilos.
The agents were able to determine that the house was allegedly used as a drug storage location, while the warehouse served as a distribution point.
Inside the warehouse, work was carried out to conceal the narcotics in vehicles equipped with false bottoms. These vehicles were then used to transport the drugs to different locations in Spain and Europe.
Once a search warrant was obtained for the rural house, officers found approximately 2,775 kilos of a white substance inside that tested positive for cocaine. They also found four Kalashnikov assault rifles and eight magazines. In addition, they seized several cell phones and three vehicles, one of which had a hidden compartment containing €28,000 in cash.
In total, eight men have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of forming a criminal organization dedicated to the distribution of large quantities of cocaine to a network of clients distributed throughout Spain and other countries, and which constituted the first link in the distribution of the drug in the European market.
